This little Mini is just a blast to drive and returning the kind of gas mileage that will make your friends jealous. Although registered as a 1974 it seems to have been totally upgraded to late 1980 specs. 1275cc A+ engine and trans, disc brakes on the front, it runs and drives like a late model classic Mini. Starting easily from cold the engine is smooth and quiet, having good power and without the harsh vibration issues these cars sometimes suffer from. The brakes, clutch, steering and suspension feel very good without any fuss or unwanted noises. The transmission is quiet and smooth with nice easy shifting in and out of all gears. The oil pressure is very good 75lbs @ 30mph and it runs nice and cool. There is a small amount of smoke from the tail pipe if driven hard. All the gauges work along with rest of the electrical, the only fault I could find was that the indicators, although working, do not cancel. Even the hazards, heater fan and heated rear window seem to functioning. There has been a pretty woodgrain dash fitted and the vinyl dashtop is in very good condition. The front seats have been upgraded to a pair of cloth hi-back buckets that give great support and better driving position than stock items. The rear seats have been re-upholstered in matching material, to give a nice stock appearance to the interior. Carpet and headlining are all in nice shape. The wheels are 12 inch Minilites shod with a good set of Falken 165/60 radial tyres. They are a little wider than stock and on hard left lock there is in reverse they tend to rub a little on the extended arches. The headlights have been upgraded to Halogen units. The body is very straight and the paint fresh and shiny. This is not a rusty car but there is some signs of corrosion in the outside corners of the front floors, this is a small area and I cannot see any other rusty spots. This could be repaired at a minimal cost. Overall this is a great looking classic mini that runs and drives great, turns heads and keeps your gas money in your pocket!
